What Happens When Diets Stop Working?

Have you ever been on a diet only to find out that it stopped working? You know what I mean. You start on a diet whether it is latest fad diet or not. You follow it to the letter. It works for a couple of weeks and then, everything just stops working.

Why Do People Stop Diets?

What happens when you cut your intake of food? Your body starts to send signals to the brain that it is not getting all the extra food that it is used to getting. At first the signal is quiet, but as time passes, it gets really load. (That’s my unscientific take on this.) The point I am making is that reducing food intake causes your body to slow down.

At first you lose weight fairly quickly. But as the warning signal gets heard in the brain, it sends out commands to the body that its time to go into a starvation mode. This causes the body to slow down and become accustomed to the lower intake of food.

Your Body Is Like The Borg

Have you ever watched the TV series, Star Trek New Generation? On this show is a race called the Borg. The Borg are a rather scary group of aliens because their whole purpose in life was to assimilate the various races they encountered. When ever they were met with resistance, the Borg would quickly adapt to the attack and make it useless.

Your body does the same thing. That load signal that is sent to the brain at first is like the attacks on the Borg. It quickly adapts and makes the attack useless. Thus, your diet program seems to stop. When it stops, what do you think happens? Exactly. You stop the program thinking that this doesn’t work. Why should you try any longer.

Overcoming The Borg In You

To overcome this adaptation, you have to do the same thing. Adapt just as quickly. To break out of the shutdown, you should look at cycling your program and exercises. Rotate from a lower intake to a higher intake every few days or every other day. Change up your exercises every week or two.

Keep your body guessing as to what you will be doing. While it is in this state of confusion, it doesn’t have time to worry about whether or not you are in the “starvation” mode. It is not sure what mode you are in since nothing is constant. When this happens, your body keeps shrinking down to the size you want it to.

Always keep in mind that what ever you do decide on, please verify this with your health care professional as they are fully aware of your specific health needs.

How many times have you just wished that a fad diet or even a “regular” diet program actually gave you instant results like all the before and after photos show in the ads. You know how that ugly fat girl became a fashion model in just 30 days taking X product. Or how that guy went from be a lardo to a body builder almost over night.

Presenting Flab Off

Fad Diet TV came across yet another video which shows you the total fallacy of diet programs. This little spoof clearly illustrates all the crap that we can easily get sucked into from a diet program. Fast weight loss. Easy fat burning. No exercise. All in one little tablet. In essence, you don’t have to pay any price except for the one you pay the diet pill company. Check it out…

What do you think? Do you believe this will really make a difference in your life long term? How about other types of similar diet programs?

Chocolate Diet

I know this may show my age a bit, but how many of you remember the diet candy product called Ayds. You remember that little morsel you ate when you were hungry during the day that was to reduce your appetite. Of course with the way the use of words has changed, it might be hard to promote “Ayds”. Think about it. Your friend asks you how you lost weight, you tell them, “I have Ayds”. Yikes!

Chocolate Diet Program

While the company that started the Ayds candy to help people lose weight may have had a good idea, the real question you have to ask yourself is did it really train you to eat properly once you were done with your “diet”. You see, the biggest challenge that people have in losing weight is developing good eating habits. During the diet, they are forced to eat in a certain way. It is usually one in which the person would not do willingly if they weren’t so desperate to lose weight. Once it is over, they fall back on their normal eating patterns.

Diets Don’t Work

This is a statement that people ignore over and over again. They still run to the latest pill to lose weight, the latest severe diet program to lose weight, or to the latest exercise program to lose weight. They have no intention of doing anything other than lose the weight so they can get back to their life again. That’s why diets don’t work. Nothing really changes except for the amount you will continue to spend and support this diet industry.

Chocolate Diet Example

Fad Diet TV came across a pretty funny video that illustrates how people like to lose their weight. Fast and easy, don’t care how it works, just so I lose those unwanted pounds. Check it out…

What about you? How do you select a diet program? We hope you take some time to evaluate the full deal and to see if it will actually be something you can do long term.

Free Online Diets

Today we want to give you a free online diet program that can make a major difference in your life. Yes, it is totally free, but there is a catch. You have to follow it in order for it to work. Yeah, the moans are pretty load now. Follow the program? Why would you want to do that? It all depends on what results you really want to have.

Specifics of Free Diet Plan

The details are pretty simple and I have seen the results first hand. I went to see a friend of mine and discovered that he had lost a lot of weight. I asked him how he did it. His answer shocked me as the program he followed was very simple. Ready? Here goes. He decided to stop driving to work each day during daylight savings time days of the year. Instead he rides his bike. I asked him if he changed his eating habits and he said he really didn’t change a whole lot in that category.

What Does This Diet Plan Cost?

The cost was time. It took him a little longer to get to work each day, but the end result was amazing. Basically in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, he rides twice a day and takes the winter off. Hey this is a diet program with a break. He didn’t over eat while doing this and the simple principle of getting your body moving worked like a charm.

What About You?

What small thing could you change in your life that could have drastic results? My friend increased his drive to work from about 10 minutes to 30 minutes each way. That small change, I believe it is called a baby step made all the difference. What baby step are you willing to take today? Why not share things that you have done that made a difference.
