Supporting Others On A Diet

This week we want to emphasize the importance of having some one to help support you while you are improving your overall health. This may seem to be common sense, but what you may not realize is that people are out to make you fail. Yes, that’s right. People (many times subconsciously) don’t want you to have success in your losing weight. Why? Because if you do, then you end up making them look bad.

Think about this for a second. Have you ever been working on your health and a close friend say, why not skip your work out tonight because you worked hard at your job or its late and it would be crazy to do your exercises. When people around you are saying things like this, it takes a lot of focus and commitment to stay on track. Thus the importance of having someone who supports you along the way.

Fat Dad Thin Dad Update

If you have been tracking how Fat Dad, Thin Dad has been doing in his transformation, you will see that even he has things that can get in the way. That’s just part of life. The important thing is to not lose track of what you are wanting to accomplish. In my situation, I have had to work some extra hours, been out of town to attend a seminar, and it goes on and on. Again, that is what happens in real life. This is not where you take overweight people and have them work out for 6 to 8 hours a day for a television show. It is real people with real things in life. Its all about finding what can work for you and taking action.

We put together a short video on what is happening and what we would like to do as it relates to making this into a community that supports others in gaining their health goals in life. Keep in mind that we want everyone to focus on common sense and this includes checking with your health care professional as each of us is different. Check out this video…

Grapefruit Diet

Have you tried the grapefruit diet? You know the one where you have to eat “x” number of grapefruits a day with hardly anything else. It is supposed to increase your metabolism and burn off fat. While the fresh fruit is probably good for you, the biggest challenge is that if you drastically change your eating pattern from what you eat now to mostly grapefruit, you may be in for a big shock.

Diet After Effects

One friend of mine who tested this diet, ended up with an allergic reaction to grapefruits. Due to the acidity levels that changed in his body from eating so many grapefruits, his lips swelled up. So he ended up gaining from doing this diet. Here he wanted to reduce and all the grapefruit did was puff him up. Just another reason to check with your health care professional before attempting any new diet.

Quick Overview of Grapefruit Diet

We discovered yet another video for your enjoyment which talks about this interesting diet. It doesn’t cover all of the specifics, but it sure is fun to watch.

What Does Fad Diet TV Think?

First, grapefruits are good for you as is any fresh fruit. Just make sure you don’t have any allergies. We are strong believers in eating fresh fruits and vegetables as going natural is usually a common sense approach to eating. However, your body needs more than just one type of fruit. Also no fruit will burn off all of your sins from eating incorrectly.

We rate this diet as good only from the fresh fruit vantage point. However, it too is bogus because you have to ask yourself, “Can you live on this for the rest of your life?” If not, then tag it as bogus.
